Managing your Campaign Website

Welcome to Your New Campaign Website!

As you settle into your new website, this guide will help you navigate the Squarespace webhost portal, manage your content, and make updates with confidence.

Getting Started: Navigating the Squarespace Portal

The Squarespace platform is designed to be user-friendly, offering a streamlined experience for managing your campaign website. Here’s an overview of key features and tools within the portal:

1. Logging In

To access your Squarespace website:

  • Visit squarespace.com.

  • Click Log In in the upper right-hand corner.

  • Enter your email and password associated with your website.

Once logged in, you'll be taken to the Home dashboard, which serves as the main hub for accessing different areas of your site.

2. Site Navigation: Your Dashboard

Your Squarespace dashboard is the central location where you’ll manage all aspects of your website. Here’s an overview of what you’ll see:

  • Pages: Manage and edit your website's pages. Add, delete, or rearrange pages from here. To edit content, simply click on a page name, and you’ll enter Page Editing Mode.

  • Design: Your campaign’s color palette and general design is already baked into site’s look and feel. Adjust your site's template, fonts, colors, and other styling options.

  • Analytics: Gain insights into your site’s traffic and performance. Here, you can monitor visitor statistics, track your most popular pages, and view other analytics data.

  • Marketing: Run email campaigns, manage SEO settings, and more. If you plan to share out campaign newsletters or online donation pushes, this section offers the tools you need.

  • Settings: Control general site settings like SEO, permissions, and social links. This is also where you can manage domains, billing information, and other administrative aspects.

3. Editing Pages and Content

To edit any content on your site, follow these steps:

  • Click on Pages from the main dashboard.

  • Select the page you wish to edit.

  • Hover over the section you want to update and click the Edit button that appears.

  • Use the drag-and-drop editor to move content blocks, adjust images, add text, or change the layout.

  • Once done, click Save in the upper left corner.

4.Adding Content Blocks

Squarespace allows you to add different types of content blocks to customize your page. These include:

  • Text: Add or edit paragraphs, headings, or quotes.

  • Images: Upload or link images from your device or social media.

  • Galleries: Create image galleries with a variety of layouts.

  • Forms: Add contact forms, surveys, or sign-up forms.

  • Videos: Embed videos from platforms like YouTube or Vimeo.

4. SEO Settings

Optimizing your website for search engines is essential for getting found online:

  • Navigate to Settings > SEO to update site-wide SEO settings.

  • Update individual page SEO by clicking on the gear icon next to any page in the Pages section, where you can add meta titles, descriptions, and customize the URL.

5. Mobile Optimization

We recommend previewing how your site looks on mobile with any significant alignment adjustment to your pages and home page:

  • Use the Mobile View toggle at the top of the editor to see how your site appears on smartphones or tablets.
